Common questions

When are SATs 2027?

KS2 SATs take place from Monday 10 May to Thursday 13 May 2027. Year 6 children sit grammar, punctuation and spelling, reading, and maths across the four days.

Do Year 2 children still do SATs in 2027?

No. KS1 SATs became optional in 2023. Schools can still use the tests if they find them useful, but they are not compulsory and results are not reported nationally.

When is the Year 4 times tables check in 2027?

The multiplication tables check runs in a two-week window starting Monday 7 June 2027. Each school chooses a day within that window.

When do children get their SATs results?

KS2 SATs results are usually released to schools in early July, a few weeks before the end of the summer term. The Department for Education has not yet confirmed the exact 2027 date.

Dates are taken from the Department for Education’s published primary assessment timetable. Always check with your child’s school for the exact days, as some checks fall within a window that each school sets itself.
