Why teach on Bell.Study

💰

Build a regular online teaching income

Turn one-off lessons into repeat bookings and build a regular class over time.

🔍

A smaller pool, more visibility

On most platforms you are one of thousands. Bell.Study is deliberately small - we hand-pick every teacher, which means less competition, real visibility for your profile, and parents who already trust the platform they are booking on.

📋

Everything you need, built in

Live video, chat, quizzes, homework with instant marking, and automatic recordings - plus we handle bookings, payments, and parent communication. Just teach.

🛡

Designed with safeguarding in mind

Every lesson recorded, student cameras off, no private messaging, DBS required.

Designed to protect both students and teachers

  • Every lesson is automatically recorded for safeguarding, teacher protection and student replay.
  • Student cameras and microphones off by default
  • No private messaging between teachers and students
  • Enhanced DBS check required for all teachers

How Pay Works

Each student pays £5 per lesson. You keep £4, and Bell.Study takes £1. Lessons with 3 students or fewer are always commission-free, so you keep the full £5 per student.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I create my own lesson content?
Yes. You design your lessons, choose topics, and set the curriculum level. We provide the platform and tools.
Do I set my own schedule?
Yes. You choose your available days and times. We recommend starting with one or two recurring weekly slots.
What class sizes are typical?
This varies. We’re a new platform, so early lessons may have fewer students. As demand grows, your classes will fill.
What happens if no one books?
There is no hard minimum at launch. If a session has 3 or fewer students 24 hours before it runs, we’ll notify you and give you the choice to cancel or proceed. Sessions with 3 or fewer students are permanently commission-free – you keep the full £5 per student. If you do cancel, students receive full credit to rebook.
When do I get paid?
Weekly via Stripe. Earnings are available within 7 days of the lesson.
Am I employed by Bell.Study?
No. You teach as an independent educator. Bell.Study provides the platform and handles administration.
What tech do I need?
A computer with a webcam, microphone, and stable internet connection. No special software – everything runs in the browser.
Do you provide curriculum support?
Yes. You remain in control of your teaching – you design your lessons and choose the topics you want to cover. To support your planning, we provide a digitised national curriculum browser at bell.study/curriculum, along with free tools and resources that we are adding to regularly.
How will parents find my lessons?
Your lessons appear in Bell.Study’s marketplace, where parents can browse by subject, year group, and teacher. We also promote lessons through our free games, our curriculum tools, our blog, and social media. As the platform grows, your profile and lesson ratings help you build visibility and attract repeat bookings.
